REGENT NATIONAL CADET CORPS

TO LEAD AND TO BE LED

Sunday, November 16, 2008

ok, time for update. Way too long eh.
right, for holiday pds training, start in the first week of Dec.
Every tuesday and thursday except on the 25th of december coz thats
Christmas. If you wanna come, by all means go on. Mr Nathan would be happy to
ask the security guards to go home as you will be guarding it =)
haha.joke only lah. but seriously, dont come!
time will be from 9am to 12noon.
Attire would be half-u.

ermm, next update will be the NCC sentosa trip.
will be happening on 18 November 2008, which will be on this coming
Tuesday. So, pass this around... Those who live near Yew Tee MRT station will meet Yew Tee. Those at CCK or wherever you want will still meet at yewtee mrt. but dont come out of the barrier thing coz you will waste ezlink money. after you reach yewtee, just go down and wait at the barrier.Mayb near the control station but dont tap yr ezlink out k.
and one important note, TELL RSM khairul first. Or yr CSM hazwan or 3SGT Hafizuddin or me so as we know who to wait for. RSM Khairul's number has changed, so
here is his new number: 90481810
so remember to tell him if you are going!
erm, as for what time to meet. As far as i know, we meet at 9am for yew tee ppl
bring sufficient $$$ as we gonna share some money to buy food k. Like last year.
also for maybe bike riding. One rental bike at Sentosa is about $5 an hour. But
this price may increase lah. coz this is what we paid last year for a rental bike.
so remember, SUFFICIENT money! haha.
and also other things like extra shorts or shirts or anything coz remember, this
is ncc outing at sentosa where there will be beaches and WATER and SAND.
caution, Sabo may occur. Thats what happen to me last year =)
hope you guys will pass around this msg to yr regent ncc brothers so
that we will have a good time there

ok time for my update. ha!
ok, as part a and part b knows, there will be a test on NCC Pledge and the NCC Core Values and their meaning.
For part b is test is somewhat crucial for yr Part B Proficiency badge. If fail, you will have a lower chance for getting yr badge. For Part A,
even though this test will not affect any badge or anything at the moment, this test will show yr knowledge and get you ready for yr turn when you have the chance to go for the Part B Pro badge. Good luck to you guys and there will be training on next Wed which is 10th September 2008.
Most probably attire would be full-u but this has not been decided by the Part C yet. Most probably i will update you guys on Mon.
As for the Hierachy system, i have updated it. So take a look see.

Orienteering

Ok, on Monday there will be a training for the Part B orienteering team.
Attire is full-u and time reporting is 2.30pm.But come early s in 2.15pm to get ready yr SBOs, bags and jerry cans.
For the orienteering team please refer to the comment Mr Ng gave which i have copied to this post below as it is concerning about the rules and what to bring to HQ on 21st August 2008(thurs).

All participants are required to bring along their Identity Card or Student Pass for verification. The attire for all participants will be No. 4 Camouflage Field Dress, SAF Water bottle and Boots and use of caps will be optional. No singlets, sandals, shoes, shorts and track pants will be allowed. Penalty points will be implemented for non-compliance.Mandatory Items include the following items must be present for each team or individual before they could qualify for the competition.

For Individual(1) SAF Water Bottle (filled), with Pouch & Belt(2) Poncho / Raincoat (optional)(3) Student Pass.

For Each Team (4 cadets)(1) 1 x Compass(2) 1 x Wrist watch(3) Pen,
pencil and writing materials.

Take note: bring at least 3 pens and 3 pencil for yr team.
From past experience, 2 pens is not enough as we used to lost one pen while running. So i suggest bringing 3 of everything.
-3 pens
-3 pencils
-3 erasers
and so on. but for rulers, bring 2 at least is enough i guess.
For the SAF Water Bottles, most probably yr spec tht may be following ,you guys and Mr Khaidir, will provide the bottles on the day itself so as to make sure the bottles are brought there.
Compass will also be provided on the day itself by yr spec.

ok, i've changed the mistake in the hierachy or hieracrhy system or watever. And i just want to clarify that 3sgt Wafir DID NOT make that spelling mistake...haha

ok for yesterday's cross country was a success in everyone's eyesMarshall did a great job redirecting 'traffic' of students to the paths. Even the runners did a great job. All Part C cadets who ran for NCC got in top 15 positions. And 1 Part B also got in.
Here are the results:
3Sgt Kai Ler----4th Position
3Sgt Hazwan---6th Position
3Sgt Sharizan--7th Position
3Sgt Wafir------15th Postion

LCP Zi Zhao----5th Position (for Sec 2)

Really great job. just wanna say Sir Shafii is a hero that day.
he carried a fainted girl to the medic tent. SuperSir!! haha!
Congrats to netball for winning the Overall Best CCA for the x-country.
(cannot be sore losers what!)
And especially congratulations to RESILIENCE for winning the x-country!! (I think 4years in a row!)
haiz, my house did very well.haha

Next for Wed(06/08) training.Full dress rehersal for NDP.
Wednesday fall in by 2.30pm. Attire is full u with badges.Specialist to be down earlier because Sir Khaidir is inspecting the company's attire.(especially the part A's). so for part A,iron uniform nicely, polish yr boot well. That goes for all Platoons.

For the Five Pillars of NCC, you will go to Chinese Garden with Sir Naden.
And cheer for NCC to be in top 15 positions for every level!!
Those who are confirmed running for NCC are:
3Sgt Hazwan
3Sgt Kai Ler
3Sgt Wafir
3Sgt Sharizan
Lcp Zi Zhao

there will be 4 other seniors running. So there will be a total of 10 runners for NCC on that day.

Salutation

It seems that NCC blog has been dead for sometimes.
Well, let me just update briefly about upcoming events and activities.

NDP 2008 is just around the corner. Regent NCC PDS team is training hard for the performance on 8 Aug 2008. For the rest of you, you guys are down for the Parade contingent. Well, sound like fun and exciting right? Haha well it is. So for the part A, hopefully you guys could try to catch up with the footdril training. I know you guys can do it.

Up coming activities for NCC will be Challenge Quest 2008 at NCC HQ. Those cadet selected, please train up your physical fitness. You guys will be competing with other districts. From, Central, East, Sea and Air cadets. Last year Challenge Quest, we WEST got champion. So hopefully we can be champion again. For those not selected, not to worry, next year you guys can take part. Its an annual event. So smile yea.

Another upcoming activities for NCC will be Annual Orrientering Competition 2008 which will be held at HQ NCC. 5 Part Bs will be selected for the competition. Its like treasure hunt. But we will be competing with other schools. Its a national event for NCC. I did participate in 2004 and we got bronze for the competition. Eventhough we didnt get gold or silver, we did got something for our school. We didnt thought that we win. All we did was our best. But theres more tips other then doing our best. So hopefully we can get silver for this year and it contribute to our Best Unit Competition points.

We will be doing our Orrientering test as soon as possible. This orrientering test will let you guys have the feeling of how the orrientering competition will be like. For those who pass the test will be awarded NCC Orrientering badge and this is part of your NCC program. So stay tune and be excited about this. It's seriously fun. Much fun then War game which you guys used to play. Its not just "bang bang" but a game which make you guys think as a team and decide the routes in short time and also motivate one another to complete the game.

Help me to spread out this blog URL. We will be posting ROs here soon. For those who don't have any internet connection, they could able to read it at NCC notice board.

And lastly, i heard you guys having your exams soon. So wish you guys all the best in studies and NCC.

I am updating cos no one is

First of all,I would like to wish you all on a job well done during cultural night. That is,for those who participated in the marshall duties.People will hate you.Not follow your orders. Will make a fool out

of you. Will make you miserable but hey, that is what marshall duty is all about. The sweat, panic and

tiredness.Trust me,I have been in countless number of marshall duties and I have experience alot of things. From people who want to pick a fight with me to those that purposely make my job harder. This is regent after all.If nothing goes wrong, then something is definitely wrong.Anyways, you will not seem to notice it.But people will thank you for it.Well maybe only the school and some teachers.

Anyways,I can see that regent ncc is finally shaping up.For once, the seargeants are on time for training. We got new teachers.Better than before.Keep this up people.

To all those who will be taking over now and in the future

~Before you achieve,you must believe~

Before you want to get something, make sure you believe and put your 100% in it.
Do not let up,nor give in.
Regent ncc now have a bright future.
with promising new leaders.

All of us,we can make it.
many people say regent ncc is the worst.
but i believe otherwise.

Getting the top post does not mean you are the best, getting the lowest post does not mean your the worst.
Its getting the respect from others that makes you the best.
you may get the lowest post but getting the respect, that better than getting the highest post.
coorperation is key and teamwork is lock.
get the key to unlock the lock and many things can be held.

New leaders taking over very soon

~To all cadets~

very soon a new change will be taking place.
part d will be stepping down,
part c will be taking over,
part b will be one step closer,
and part a will be begining their new memories.

we got a hell of a new sir
we got a new co taking over from the previous one
we got seniors and clts coming to our school
we got specs who wont give up
we got cadets who will take the next great leap
and we got us,together

i believe regent ncc will make the change
from a bronze unit,to silver and to gold
we must not make that "bronze" title dictate us
its up to us to dictate for ourself

"first, tell yourself who and what you want to be,
then do what you have to do."

thats what we gotta do
every single one of us
no one gets left out nor gets left behind
cause we are brothers

so,to all cadets, make the change you want it to be.
you cant expect something and not giving your best for it
"give first,take second"

"before you learn to lead, you have to learn to be led."

pictures during the march camp

8-10 march camp 08

march camp have been a great success
everybody have learnt a new thing or two
for the part a,u have learnt more for whats ncc is all about
for the part b,u guys have learnt to take care of others
and for the art c,u guys have learnt how to wake the lead

the food this year was extremely delicious....in my own opinion, better than all the years combine
the activity was fun and tiring
there was 100% no casualty on the war game and there definitely was fun
everybody was smiling and laughing

the obstacle course too was fun...the highlighted event was when u all crawl under the camo net with water pouring all over....

the trekking, was hell....but hey, everybody went through it together
the night walk,i would like to say thank u to all the cadets...it was better than the trekking
definitely much much more better....
even though we didnt go that much inside the jungle,i know the next year camp that will be taken by the part c will be much better

there wasnt any problems at the camp at all, despite a few setbacks
the co night was really funny and every one was laughing all the way

as a usm,im really impressed with what u all had went through....
keep it up not just during camps.but during trainings as well

i would like to say thank you to all the cadets for making this camp a success and also a big thank you to all the specs that went the extra mile to make sure this camp runs like a clockwork.
and also a very big thank u to the oic and 2ic,the sirs and seniors/

may regent ncc be better than what it is before....

notice

to all cadets, there will be a march camp on the 8,9 and 10...consent form will be given asap....pls do take note

REMEMBER THIS>>>...

as ppl knw, ncc talks about brotherhood, teamwork, friendship, etc...
this all requires every individual to work as ONE in the troop...
if ONE's gonna fail to continue with the journey, the rest will help him, instead of moving on without him...
if ONE's gonna be the burden to ALL, then let it be...no matter wad...UNLESS the ONE is gonna giv up TOTALLY and DO NOT wan to continue...
in rgt ncc's, there's a quote tat says: SHOUD LIKE THUNDER, MOVE LIKE LIGHTNING...
BUT INSTEAD, there another quote: IMPOSSIBLE IS NOTHING, NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE...
[THINK POSITIVE...BELIEVE IN YOURSELF, TAT U CAN DO IT!!!]
finally, wad i wanna add on is: alwaes cherish ppl around u, be it ur friends, ur family, etc...sometimes, in a platoon, there might be ONE or TWO "burden", but in any condition, do motivate them, giv them support, make them have confidence in themself, and they might perhaps giv in their full potential and sometimes, do better than any other, and tat's called: TEAMSPIRIT and MOTIVATION...

For future leaders

"he,who has never learned to obey cannot be a good commander"
Aristotle

This goes outs to the part c.Specialist course is just around the corner.
To be frank,
all you guys are not ready. You guys dont know the history of ncc,all the general specialist knowledge and much much more...
Even your uniform,i can say its not up to standard...Many times in trainings say already, but in the end....everything is still the same...

But that doesnt matter, what matters is whether you guys are able to listen to each other when you guys take over the whole regent ncc,as said on the top,he who never learned to obey cannot be a good commander...If you guys dont learn to listen to one another, especially when taking orders from the usm and asm,the whole regent ncc will be catsatrophic...All of you part c have to listen to one another, doesnt matter if that guy giving you the order is wrong or worst still,You dont like him thats why you dont want to listen to him...If all of you guys thinks like that,i can say that we can just close down regent ncc...

Anyways,I can see you part c have a bright future...really bright,we never got the chance, make sure You guys really work together,as one.Differences can be solved by communication and not just by violence...remember,You guys are one and not many....

New blog for all regent ncc members ex and present

This blog is for all of us to share our stories about regent ncc.
All are welcome and none are denied.
Please do write something about ncc and not about outside stuff.

From current usm 2008,
To all cadets who is reading this blog, this blog was made by me for all of us to share our joy, happiness, painful and sorrows about regent ncc.

My first post to all of you who is reading this,
Regent ncc was formed when the school was declared open.
many batches of cadets, joined and leave regent ncc.
Every new batches of specialist and cadets wants to change regent ncc
Our batch, which started after the pop on june july last year,is trying our best to change regent ncc to become from bronze to silver or possibly,gold....
and not only just that but the discipline, performance, attitudes and most importantly, the brotherhood of all of us.....

Our performance, discipline, respect and brotherhood has been decreasing to an all time low.....our fault??yes.....
But all of us,if we give that bit of extra percentage in trainings to do our best, theres no doubt we could not get gold......
Brotherhood is our core,we got to build that up first together...not just the seniors, specialist but u all,the cadets as well.....
When one person fells down, will the rest picks him up to his feet again??
When one person gets left out, will the rest join him instead of waiting for him to join u??
when one person gets left behind, will the rest come back and get him??
when one person gets injured, will the rest care for him??
when one person is talking, will the rest listen to him??
when one person is scared, will the rest comfort him??
when one person gets scolded, will the rest take the fault for him??
when one person gets punished, will the rest take punishment together??

thats what brotherhood is all about guys, its not about u and me together but about u and me 4ever.....
think about it....when we all have brotherhood someday,
not one, will leave here saying regent ncc sucks....
not one will leave here alone
not one will do things alone
but all will leave saying they were a brother

think about it guys,no....think about it brothers, together we can make a difference and theres no doubt about it......

MY NCC VALUES

BROTHERHOOD
TEAMWORK
ENDURANCE
RESPECT
MOTIVATION
FRIENDSHIP

remember this guys!!
